Episode 11 : "The Ivy Curtain"

Summary
Aliens can be funny.
Review
The Invaders wasn"t a series noted for belly laughs or warm fuzzy moments but "The Ivy Curtain" provided both.Air Freight pilot Barney Cahill is stunned to find that the "foreign students" he has been flying to the Midlands Academy are not all they seem;they do not bleed and feel no pain!David Vincent has followed the loathsome William Burns {second in command at the Academy} and is soon drawn into the usual web of intrigue. This episode is packed with classic scenes and amusing dialogue;the camp and perma tanned "Dean" Dr.Reynard tells Barney after offering him a drink "our initial plan was to kill you!But there may be a more practical solution."One of Reynards henchmen tells Barney "All of our students are accustomed to air flight"! And of course theres the classic scene inside the "Alien Nightclub" where they are taught to spread "seeds of hate and destruction".Great performances by Roy Thinnes,Murray Matheson,Jack Warden,David Sheiner and the gorgeous Susan Oliver make this one to watch again and again.Review by Alan Lewis, submitted 2005-04-26
