Review

When it comes to solid acting, Quinn Martin Productions consistently delivered the goods. "The Experiment" is no exception. Roy Thinnes himself turns in a stellar performance as a sympathetic David Vincent. The scene where he gives Dr. Lindstrom his sales pitch about The InVaDeRs is very effective! "I KNOW them better than you!" What a salesman! The eerie "Preacher" alien played by QM favorite Dabbs Greer was very menacing "It will all be over soon my Son"...CLASSIC LINE!!! Hell, everyone in this production was top notch...Macdowall, Gould..ALL GREAT! Another high note of this one is the MUSIC. "The Experiment" had one of the few original musical scores and it was very dramatic! Movies today lack the QUALITY of this series in terms of writing, acting and music in my opinion. NOTES: I love the brainwash scene in "Maryland"...reminds me of a scene in the 1980 Universal film "Flash Gordon" where Hans Zarkov is reprogrammed. Mike Hodges must have seen this episode! One silly bit is where Dr. Lindstrom is about to be executed in this terrifying scene...he acts surprised that the "agents" know about the proof even though he JUST told the phone operator about it a second earlier within earshot of The InVaDeRs
