Episode 24 : "The Spores"

Summary
Who's got the spores? Who cares?
Review
One of the few epsiodes in which the teaser begins with William Woodson's narration. That should've been an omen right there that this was going to be a sub-par episode.
Forget about plot. "The Spores" is mainly a chase, a shell game in which an alien case containing infant aliens is passed along from person to person, with the murderous Gene Hackman in hot pursuit.
This episode is notable mainly for being one of Hackman's early television performances, before he found fame on the big screen -- and he has a presence -- glib when he wants to be, menacing when he wants to be. He is a very interesting actor.
This episode features two other interesting character actors -- Wayne Rogers ("Trapper John" from MASH) and John Randolph, whom you've seen a dozen times but can't remember his name. And the other actors -- you've seen them, too.
Watch this episode for the acting, nothing else.Review by Gerald Fitzgerald, submitted 2002-09-29
