Review

"The Invaders" as it was meant to be seen, with frightening alien technology, disintegrator rays, special effects and a moralistic tale on the differences between humans and aliens. Directed by the legendary Robert Butler. A ship crashes in a remote area. A woman (a nurse and a humanitarian who served in Vietnam) sees it and is held hostage by its sole survivor, Blake, a murderous alien who will stop at nothing to stay alive and accomplish his mission. David Vincent is nearly a minor character in this drama, as we see the alien's gradual deterioration into his original form the longer he goes without regenerating. Seeing the woman's selfless humanity, the alien actually seems to learn something, and toward the end, in his last moments of life, given the opportunity to go back with his own kind, he kills two other aliens who have come to retrieve his secret experiments and asks Vincent to mercifully kill him.
